About Hotline Labs
Hotline Labs started in March 2019 with a simple belief: software should solve problems, not create them. In the years since, we've built, launched, and maintained eight SaaS products — each one born from a genuine need we saw in the businesses around us.
We're not a startup. We're not backed by venture capital. We're a small, experienced team of builders who care deeply about making useful software and supporting the people who use it.
Our approach is deliberately unfashionable: we focus on substance over style, reliability over hype, and long-term value over short-term growth metrics. Every product we build is something we'd want to use ourselves.
How We Got Here
Before Hotline Labs existed, we spent years working inside the businesses our software now serves. We saw procurement teams drowning in spreadsheets, HR managers chasing paper holiday forms, and compliance officers patching together systems that were never designed to talk to each other. The tools that were supposed to help were either absurdly expensive or so bloated they created more problems than they solved.
So we started building. MySupplierList came first — a supplier management platform for UK businesses that didn't want to spend six figures on an enterprise solution. Then MyHolidayForm, because we couldn't believe how many companies were still managing leave on paper. Then ComplianceCover, SpamBarometer, MyParty, LiveSkillsHub, VendorPad, and TrustlyEd. Each one scratching an itch we'd felt ourselves or seen up close.
We've never taken outside funding. That's a deliberate choice, not a limitation. It means every decision we make is driven by what's best for the people who use our software, not by what looks good in a quarterly investor update. We grow at our own pace, reinvest our revenue into making the products better, and keep our prices fair.
Seven years in, we're still a small team. We still answer support emails personally. We still ship updates every week. And we still get a genuine buzz when a customer tells us we've saved them hours of work or helped them pass an audit they were dreading. That's what keeps us going.
Our Approach
We believe in building software the right way — even when it's the slow way.
We ship. We don't pitch.
Every product in our portfolio exists because we built it and released it. No vapourware.
Solve one problem well.
We'd rather make eight focused tools than one bloated platform nobody understands.
Built for real teams.
Our users are busy people who need software that works on day one, not after a 6-week onboarding.
Sustainable by design.
We bootstrap, we're profitable, and we plan to be here for the long haul.
